Our chairman is Greg Hartwell.
Greg was inspired to sing at age eight by Betty Roe MBE who was organist and choirmaster at his local church. As an adult he went on to sing in the Chapel Choir at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, and the Sunday Evening Service Choir at St Paul’s Cathedral - he currently sings in the Cathedral Chorus for the annual performances of The Messiah and St John Passion.
However, he particularly enjoys the chamber choir repertoire, which he first experienced with the Cunningham Singers in West London and later with the Friends’ Musick originally based at Shakespeare’s Globe. He has sung with the Crofton Singers for over sixteen years and, as Chairman, wishes to do whatever he can to encourage new singers to find as much pleasure in singing as he has done.
